Our breath is a doorway into our bodies, into our nervous systems, and into our emotions. Learning to work with the breath is transformative.
At rest we breath several times every minute. As a movement, we practice breathing--by constantly doing it--more than perhaps anything else. The breath is sensitive and powerful. Breathing mechanics can be thrown off and sub-optimal patterns developed by physical, mental or emotional experiences. Changing your breathing mechanics and patterning can change your posture, gait, and how you use and move your body. The breath can also lead us to accessing and modulating our heart rate, nervous system, emotional response, concentration, focus, and physical performance. I have completed advanced studies in a variety of breath work practices and know how to safely guide you to learning about the power of breath work and help you to develop a practice of your own.
