Do you want to have any idea of what you are getting into before you join a public yoga class? Have you gone to public yoga classes and felt confused or out of place and you want to get it? We can start at the beginning, which is learning how to approach yoga and how to manage your experience safely no matter what yoga class you might be in. I will teach you safe ways to approach and modify anything offered in a yoga class so that you are able to benefit (and definitely not get hurt!) in yoga class.
Yoga is profoundly gentle and allowing. This attitude can be surprisingly difficult to find. We are used to pushing, striving, even hardening against experience. The skill of allowing, of searching for the more gentle approach is subtle and needs particular guidance, yet it is the heart of yoga. As such, it is the foundation of yoga as well as its most advanced skill. Start of on the right foot and learn the yogic approach to all the practices.
